Taking a vested interest!

There are many different ways to accentuate your suit.
One of the best ways to accentuate your suit is by adding a vest. By adding a vest to make a 3-piece suit, you can lend an even classier look to your two-piece suit. If you are looking to try the 3-piece look, I would suggest getting the vest when purchasing the suit.  This way you can be sure to match the vest and suit colors to keep the same classy look.

However, you can make the suit a little more trendy by changing up the color of the vest.  The 3-piece suit will still be classy, but you will be adding a little more personal expression and style.  A two-toned 3-piece is a fun and classy way to go.

A vest also provides a layering effect.  It’ll insulate you better for the colder months.  Another aspect the vest provides is tie stability. When wearing a vest, your tie will stay confined and in the same place, and I think it adds to your look. When you are not wearing a vest, a tie bar is a great accessory to pin your tie to your shirt to keep it in it’s proper place.

Lastly, I have had several questions in regards to the buttoning of the vest.  Men ask me if they should leave the bottom button undone, or button it like the rest of the buttons on the vest.

To answer this question of buttoning the last button on the vest, I’m going to look back in history.  According to legend, King Edward VII was too large for his vest, so he unbuttoned the bottom button. Since he was king, all followed in his footsteps. This is one of the first known references to this trend. However, it is also a designer thing and personal preference.

Either way is correct.  But, I will say that if your jacket is unbuttoned, then your vest should be buttoned all the way.  If your jacket is buttoned you can relax the last button on the vest.  That’s my personal preference.
Let us know what you think.  Vest or no vest? Button that bottom button or not?

Winter is upon us, and the changing of your wardrobe will need to take place.

So here are some closet rules thanks to “The Handbook of Style” by Esquire.

Don’t overcrowd-stow season items in a separate closet or storage space.

Your suit came in a bag for a reason-and not just to transport it home.  A storage bag will protect it from insects, fading, and dust.

Keep shoes in their shoe bags and boxes to protect them from light and dust.

Fold knitwear such as sweater on a shelf instead of hanging them, to prevent stretching out the shape.

Remove dry-cleaned items from wire hangers as soon as you get them home, and hang them on proper hangers.

Here are 4 hangers that you just need.

Voting Update

Sunday, November 1st, 2009

Please, we need your vote!

Dear family, friends and fans,

I understand that some of you have been experiencing problems voting.  Drew and I have not been able to vote since Thursday.  But, this evening I believe I have unlocked the problem.

Due to the high amount of traffic that has been coming in and out to the voting site it has become jammed or incapable of reading your vote again.  So, the solution to the problem is to go to your Internet server such as Explorer, Safari, Firefox, etc and empty out the cache and cookies from the server.  The location of the cookies/cache will be in your server’s system preferences or part of the drop down tab. Once you have removed these cookies/ cache then exit out or quit your server and allow a couple of minutes to go by, and then log back in.  After you have done this you should be able to enter your vote.  If not try again in the morning and it should be working.

We apologize for this inconvenience, and we appreciate all of you for your support.  Hopefully the problem will be resolved soon, eliminating the extra trouble. Please continue to vote each day at the same time you did the previous day, and tell all your friends and family to please help out.

YOU CAN VOTE ONCE FROM YOUR COMPUTER AND ONCE FROM YOUR IPHONE (or any phone with internet connection) everyday.
